Description

Sunflower seeds are the fruits (achenes) of the sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.). The seeds are 10-15 mm long and 4 mm broad, cylindrical or drop-shaped. The sunflower seed consists of a hard hull (pericarp) and a kernel, which is the actual seed (Ecoport, 2012)
